Kilkenny Education Support Centre – Primarysubs WhatsApp Group: Terms of Use

This WhatsApp group is solely for the purpose of efficiently linking substitute teachers to vacant positions in primary schools.

Group Rules:

1. ONLY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS/DEPUTY PRINCIPALS ARE PERMITTED TO POST MESSAGES TO THE GROUP.
2. Only posts relating to substitute vacancies are allowed.
3. All members should mute the group and turn off notifications via their WhatsApp settings (specific to this group), unless actively seeking or posting a position.

For School Principals:

1. Unmute the group when looking for a substitute.
2. Post your vacancy using the following format:
   “Sub required today for XXXX NS [insert address or Eircode], Xth Class”
3. Await private responses from available substitute teachers.
4. Confirm the position directly with the selected sub via private message or voice call.
5. Confirm if the post has been filled or not in the main group.
6. Do not respond publicly to individual substitute teachers in the group.

For Substitute Teachers:

1. Unmute the group when you are available for work.
2. When a suitable post appears, contact the relevant principal privately via WhatsApp message:
   “Hi, I’m available to fill this position.”
3. Wait for the principal to confirm privately if you are selected and to provide further details.
4. Do not reply publicly in the group.

Joining the WhatsApp Group

Leaving the WhatsApp Group:

To leave the group, simply remove your number from it in WhatsApp.
