This workshop is designed to help school secretaries navigate GDPR requirements and strengthen their cybersecurity awareness.
Participants will learn practical strategies to protect sensitive school data, recognise phishing threats, and implement best practices for data security in a school setting.

Facilitator: Helena McKenna
Helena McKenna is an experienced educator and administrator with a strong background in industry and school administration. Having worked as a school secretary and later as an executive administrator at CEIST, she understands the complex dynamics of the role. She holds a Master’s in Business Management from the Institute of Technology, Carlow, and a BA in Human Resource Management from the National College of Ireland.
Now a teacher at Carlow Institute of Further Education and Training, Helena has delivered professional development workshops for school secretaries around the country.
She specialises in MS Office, GDPR compliance, and cybersecurity awareness, equipping school secretaries with practical strategies to manage sensitive information securely.
Her hands-on, engaging approach ensures participants gain valuable, real-world skills to enhance their roles.
