As part of the Education Support Centres Ireland (ESCI) ongoing supports for schools at this time, the network will deliver a number of upcoming webinars to support Primary and Post Primary schools as they welcome new arrivals.

ESCI and English Language Support Teachers' Association of Ireland (ELSTA)

Education Support Centres Ireland (ESCI), in partnership with English Language Support Teachers' Association of Ireland (ELSTA), delivered two webinars in March 2022 for all working in the education sector. Recordings of both webinars are available for viewing below.

ESCI, in collaboration with the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS), delivered webinars in March/April 2022, for all working in the Primary and Post Primary education sectors.

Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) Leading the Inclusion of EAL Learners in Post Primary Schools

The PDST Post Primary English as an Additional Language (EAL) Team invite Post Primary teachers, with a specific remit for EAL, to their upcoming Leading the Inclusion of EAL Learners in Post Primary Schools online workshop. This workshop, taking place on various dates in April and May 2022, will support those leading the inclusion of EAL learners in a Post Primary setting. It will provide a practical overview of how EAL learners' priority needs and language needs can be met by a school. It will explore how teachers with a specific remit for EAL can support mainstream classroom teachers, and school leadership, in the areas of EAL teaching, learning, assessment and leadership. 

Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) Leading the Inclusion of EAL Learners in Primary Schools

The PDST will run an interactive Leading the Inclusion of EAL Learners in Primary Schools online workshop to support Primary teachers to develop the inclusion of English as an Additional Language (EAL) children in their schools. The workshop, taking place on various dates in May 2022, will provide an online forum for Primary teachers to share experiences and practice supporting EAL learners. It will explore who EAL learners are in Primary schools and what their needs may be, while demonstrating effective EAL pedagogies, resources and supports.
