NEPS The Balanced Approach to Literacy Development in the Early Years Webinar Series

This webinar series, taking place on Wednesday 4th and 11th November 2020 from 7 - 8.30p.m., is suitable for Junior Infants - First Class Primary teachers.
The Balanced Approach to Literacy Development in the Early Years draws on international research, evidence based practice and samples of that practice in Irish Primary schools to give a coherent and comprehensive guide to teachers. It is also aligned with the new Primary Language Curriculum.
This is a resource that can be used by class teachers working with children from Junior Infants - First Class. It may also be helpful to schools who have identified the need to improve reading and literacy standards as part of the school-self-evaluation process. Some schools may also like to use the resource to support the work of a professional learning community focusing on literacy.
This resource contains:
- Suggestions for developing practice
- Supporting resources and materials
- 32 short video clips of best practice in action showing teachers and children in Irish classrooms, and
- Summary of research evidence practice in action.
The Words their Way Spelling Programme is linked to this webinar series. Click here to see our upcoming NEPS Words their Way (Spelling Programme) webinar. Please note that separate booking is required for the NEPS Words their Way (Spelling Programme) webinar.
