An Introduction to Recorded Preparation (Written Planning) for Primary School Teachers in all Settings

An Introduction to Recorded Preparation (Written Planning) for Primary School Teachers in all Settings

A large amount of information on teacher planning has been provided from various sources, including the National Induction Programme for Teachers (NIPT), in recent years. Guidance on preparation for teaching and learning was also published by the Department of Education in 2021, however this useful document went under the radar for many due to its publication during the COVID pandemic.

The abundance of information has left many teachers confused about exactly what written planning they need to do when teaching in various settings (Mainstream, SET, EAL, Special Class/ School).

The aim of this webinar is to give Irish primary school teachers and school leaders a broad overview of what written preparation they are required to do, what sections need to be included (and which can be omitted), and what tools and methods can be used to make the process as efficient and practical as possible.

Sample long and short-term plans will be shown and free blank templates will be provided to course participants.
