All NQTs must have applied to the Teaching Council to undertake the Droichead process by 19th March 2021, and received a confirmation email before registering for CM1. Cluster Meeting 1 (CM1): CM1 is available to NQTs via the NIPT online learning platform and will be available online only during Term 3 2021. Please note that CM1 for Term 2 has now closed and will re-open on Monday 12th April 2021 at 10a.m. Please be advised that NQTs who have not fully completed CM1 and/or who have not printed their Certificate of Achievement can do so when CM1 re-opens on 12th April 2021. Cluster Meeting 2 (CM2): CM2 will be facilitated via Zoom from 20th - 29th April 2021 and dates/times will be released on the 12th and 19th. Protocols apply and those NQTs wishing to attend are required to familiarise themselves with them prior to registering. Protocols as well as the link to register for CM2 can be accessed here. Cluster Meeting 3 (CM3): CM3 will be facilitated in May 2021.
From September 2017, Droichead is the sole route of Induction for NQTs in SEN settings. From September 2018, Droichead is the sole route of Induction in large Primary schools of 16 (or more) classroom teachers.
NQTs who are engaging in the Droichead process must attend one two-hour Cluster Meeting per Term for the duration of their Droichead process.
Cluster Meetings may be attended only by NQTs who have applied for Droichead to the Teaching Council via 'My Registration' portal on its website (www.teachingcouncil.ie) and received a confirmation email. The National Cluster Meeting Schedule will accompany the confirmation email and NQTs must register with the Education Centre to attend a Cluster Meeting.
All NQTs engaging in the Droichead process must attend Cluster Meeting 1 before attending Cluster 2 and/or 3.
At Cluster Meetings, NQTs will present Form D to be stamped by the facilitator as proof of attendance. Form D is available at www.teachingcouncil.ie. Please have this Form with you on the night.
In addition to Cluster Meetings, NQTs who are engaging in the Droichead process should also engage in one other professional learning activity. This may include attendance at an NIPT workshop which NQTs must register with the Education Centre to attend.
The Teaching Council now allows that NQTs who have fulfilled the 20-hour Induction Workshop Programme requirement prior to applying for Droichead are required to attend Cluster Meeting 1, only.
