Delivered in person by Dr Pauline Cogan, this course will be hands on as far as is possible.
Score booklet will be avaiable for attendees. Participants that may have access to a whole WIAT-III-T test kit please bring it along.
This test is highly reliable and is the same test for literacy tests that psychologists use. Participants will be brought through various exercises such as:
1. Determining an examinee’s age
2. Start and discontinue points for a test
3. How to score tasks
4. Determining standard and percentile scores
5. How to do a running record
6. When and how to regress to earlier age material
7. How to indentify weaknesses for intervention
Pauline Cogan, PhD, is a Chartered Psychologist and expert in literacy development. A native of Dungarvan, she trained as a primary teacher and later earned an MSc in Neurolinguistics and a PhD from Trinity College Dublin. Her career spans teaching, research, and clinical work in Europe, focusing on language, learning difficulties, and brain injury rehabilitation. Pauline developed TEST2r, a screening tool for early literacy skills, and serves on national and international bodies promoting educational inclusion.
