Kilkenny Wildlife Detective
On this course, which will take place over two evenings (Mondays 7th and 21st October, 5 - 7 p.m.) participants will renew their own enthusiasm for conserving biodiversity. They will be equipped with the confidence and resources to awaken children's curiousity about the rich natural heritage all around them, as all are encouraged to become citizen scientists.
A Resource Pack, designed specifically to encourage children to explore Kilkenny's wildlife, will be provided free of charge, and includes guidance notes for teachers and a notebook for children to record what they find when exploring in the outdoors. Links will be made to Aistear and the Primary Curriculum. Topics such as birds, trees and mini-beasts will be explored.
This workshop is designed for Primary teachers.
