Epilepsy Awareness Online Information Session for Teachers and SNAs

This Information Session is in partnership with Epilepsy Ireland.

Epilepsy Ireland work with Education Centres across the country to provide information about Epilepsy to Primary and Post Primary teachers and Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) who may have students living with the condition. Information Sessions, delivered by the Epilepsy Ireland Training and Quality Manager or Community Resource Officers, aim to ensure that education professionals have a clear understanding of the condition and how they can help their students. If you are a teacher or an SNA, please join us to increase your understanding about Epilepsy and how to support your student/s living with the condition. Information Packs available.

This online session will cover;

  • What is Epilepsy?
  • Types of seizures,
  • Safety and seizures - Seizure First Aid,
  • Triggers and lifestyle,
  • Treatment,
  • When to call an ambulance, and
  • Preparing a care plan.
