This CPD Series is a partnership between Kilkenny Education Centre, Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Discover Primary Science and Maths programme (DPSM) and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO Ireland).
Online CPD workshops that cultivate curiosity! The SFI Discover Primary Science and Maths (DPSM) programme and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO Ireland) are now offering places to individual teachers wishing to build their confidence in teaching STEM subjects. These free workshops, in partnership with Kilkenny Education Centre, will;
During the workshops, participants will be introduced to the DPSM/ESERO Framework for Enquiry and new DPSM activities which enable teachers to harness students’ curiosity to lead STEM lessons. This supports the enhancing of teacher capacity as outlined in Pillar 2 of the STEM Education Policy Statement.
Workshop #3 of this Series, Rockets and Space: Journey Into Space (taking place on Wednesday 25th May and Wednesday 1st June 2022, from 4 - 5p.m.), will look at how to use a narrative to include multiple aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths curricula during lessons. This not only allows teachers to explore inquiry-based learning, but also encourages teachers to teach in a way that enables students to show their strengths, innovation, and ingenuity. There are three workshops in this Series in total. Teachers must register individually for each workshop/s in the Series they wish to attend.
