This series of webinars will introduce participants to watercolours, enable them to experiment with colour and have some fun! While these webinars are planned as a series (Wednesdays 2nd, 9th and 16th June 2021, 7 - 8p.m.), they can also be enjoyed individually. Different artists will be working in this online medium, trying out some new techniques and creating in a relaxed atmosphere that will leave participants with some lovely paintings and plenty of ideas for the classroom next year.
Webinar One: Introduction to watercolours! These paints are often considered a bit ‘difficult’ to work with, but they hold a great deal of potential and can be really fun to play with. Participants will do some simple colour and wash exercises before trying out a still-life.
Webinar Two: Brushes, depth and texture. You can get a lot from simple strokes with watercolours. Here, participants will experiment with the different effects brushes can have and look at creating depth with a range of colours before trying out a landscape.
Webinar Three: Experiments! Who says you have to follow the rules? Participants will try out some alternative effects they can create with watercolours and work on abstract and mixed media pieces.
