Starting at the very beginning, this webinar will give teachers, both Primary and Post Primary, an introduction to Scratch programming language. It will allow them to take part in a step-by-step introduction to Scratch and demonstrate different projects that they can complete with their students. Participants will also look at more advanced projects in Scratch, including more advanced games, and demonstrate how Scratch can be used to teach different elements and aspects of the Maths curriculum.
Scratch is a free visual programming language and online community used by millions of children around the world. With Scratch, children can create their own interactive programs, then share and discuss their creations with one another.
Participants will also look at other coding apps that can be used to support coding in the classroom.
