Workshop #1 - Identification and Understanding Difficulties Associated with the Diagnosis - Tuesday 9th March 2021, 7 - 8.30p.m.
This practical workshop will examine the signs and symptoms of Dyslexia and how teachers might recognise it in the classroom. Participants will look at the specific difficulties associated with the diagnosis and will use basic assessments and checklists suitable for classroom and school use to help teachers plan to assess students. At the end of this workshop, participants will understand better what Dyslexia feels like from the perspective of the person with Dyslexia, and in what areas of education and daily living the difficulties appear.
Workshop #2 - Helping Students to Access the Curriculum - Thursday 18th March 2021, 7 - 8.30p.m.
During this workshop, participants will examine differentiation techniques and resources that will help students with Dyslexia to access the curriculum and to reach their full potential. A practical approach to planning to meet the needs of students will be taken, and the workshop will look at some of the resources available for students with Dyslexia.
