Concern Primary School Debating Competition
Following the success of the Concern Primary School Debating Competition over the past eight years, Kilkenny Education Centre is delighted that the Competition continued this year, albeit in a different format to previous years. This year, due to physical distancing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Competition has gone online.
The Debating Competition is aimed at Senior classes in Primary schools; 4th, 5th and 6th Classes. There is no charge for entry into the Competition and the Centre can accommodate a maximum of 32 Teams. Participating schools compete against other schools on a knock-out basis, culminating with a local winner. Participating schools have found the overall experience of the Competition to be educationally advantageous and a great benefit in developing oral language skills.
The overall joint winners of the Competition in the Kilkenny Education Centre catchment area last year, 2019-20, were C.B.S. Primary School, Kilkenny (pictured) and Scoil Bhríde N.S., Paulstown. Congratulations to both Teams!
